SDN and data center fabrics aren't mutually exclusive, according to 75% of providers that plan to use both technologies. Additionally, two-thirds of providers disagree that SDN eliminates the need for a data center fabric. That's likely because the two technologies address different problems. While SDN aims to improve network management and programmability, fabrics focus on enabling fast, simplified any-to-any connectivity in the data center network.
