Vipersat Networks launches satellite modem router
NeTrue Communications has announced that its Vipersat Networks division, an international provider of two-way multimedia satellite networks, has released the SMR5000, a programmable SCPC/VSAT satellite modem router. According to the company, the SMR5000 increases network cost efficiency and ease of use by combining a modem and router in a single unit. The SMR5000 utilizes Vipersat's technology to integrate the Star Data Management System (SDMS-II) with the M5000 modem into a single unit, eliminating the need for external serial port cabling. Designed to deliver low to high-speed IP routed data link connections between Ethernet LAN and WAN networks, the SMR5000 provides a variety of communications services to NeTrue Vipersat Network's customers including video conferencing, dynamic bandwidth management and power control.
Sylantro ComMerchant Application Module a winner at COMNET

Optical Access provides broadband IP access technology to Skanova
Optical Access, a designer, manufacturer and marketer of optical wireless access products, has announced that Skanova, the independent wholesale network provider within the Telia group, has signed a one-year agreement with Optical Access for its OptiSwitch, a next-generation optical switch that will enable Skanova to deploy Ethernet to the Home, providing symmetric broadband access up to 100Mb/s to service providers and end users in Sweden. Skanova will deploy the Optical Access OptiSwitch for its nationwide build-out of broadband access to residents in Sweden, beginning with the capital, Stockholm.
Spirent Communications delivers OSPF routing emulation on the Adtech AX/4000 platform
Spirent Communications, a performance analysis solutions provider, has announced Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) routing emulation for the Adtech AX/4000 Broadband Test System. In addition to the AX/4000's real-time, full-rate traffic generation and analysis capabilities, the OSPF option allows users to validate their OSPF implementations for highly stressed networks. The AX/4000 OSPF routing emulation option provides interoperability and functionality testing between different router vendors by allowing the users to build realistic emulated networks using various OSPF Link State Advertisements (LSAs).
