Will a CCNA help me secure a better position working in development?

In this Q&A, our Cisco certifications expert, David Minutella, answers the question "Will a CCNA help me secure a better position in programming/development work?"

Will CCNA certification help me get a better job if I want to work in development work?
By developing, I am assuming you are referring to programming computer languages as opposed to the Cisco operating system. If that is the case, I would honestly say that the CCNA would not enhance your commitment to the development field per se, but it is an indication that you are knowledgeable in networking concepts in case your development requires network connectivity of some sort.
