Network testing strategies for the enterprise: Meet the experts

SearchNetworking.com’s new experts, Tom Kunath and Andy Sholomon, discuss network testing strategies for the enterprise at Cisco Live 2011.

SearchNetworking.com has added two new experts to our Ask the Experts lineup: Tom Kunath and Andy Sholomon, authors of the Cisco Press book, Enterprise Network Testing: Testing Throughout the Lifecycle to Maximize Availability and Performance.

We invite readers to ask Tom Kunath questions about routing and switching, with a focus on large-scale design, testing and implementation. Readers can ask Andy Sholomon questions about data center networking.

Tom Kunath has many years in the networking industry under his belt. As a design and test consulting engineer in Cisco’s Advanced Services Central Engineering team, he has helped to deploy and design many of Cisco’s largest enterprise and financial customer networks. His previous experience includes work with Juniper Networks as a resident engineer and his position as a principal consultant at International Network Services. Tom holds a CCIE and several other industry certifications, as well as being a Cisco Press author.

Andy Sholomon plans and executes network testing for several of Cisco’s largest enterprise customers as a network consulting engineer in Cisco’s Central Engineering Performance and Validation Testing team. Andy has also been a vital part of deploying some of the largest enterprise data centers in the U.S and has worked with several of Cisco’s large service provider customers. His previous experience includes work as a systems engineer at Spear, Leeds & Kellogg and a role in security engineering. Along with his CCIE, Andy holds other industry certifications such as the CISSP and MCSE. He is also a Cisco Press author.

Tom and Andy’s book, Enterprise Network Testing: Testing Throughout the Network Lifecycle to Maximize Availability and Performance, explores the importance of network testing strategies for the enterprise and goes through the vital steps in order to conduct proper network testing to ensure successful network performance.

Check out Chapter 3, Testing and Lab Strategy Development, in which Tom and Andy explore network testing strategies for the enterprise in regards to developing a network test lab facility.
