Network design for a small office

I am not a network specialist but our small office, 3 computers, will be networked. Should I use a small server or a desktop that can "act as a server until we grow to 5+ desktops/stations? Should I use a router w/firewall or switches w/firewall. Need information for administration of this network, where should I go?
With only 5 PC?s you could probably use a low cost firewall/router such as Linksys. You could then connect everything with a 100MB full duplex hub. If you anticipate growth you may want to consider a switch. Also, check out SearchNetworking.com's selection of best Web links on Installation and Configuration.
