How can I configure an uplink from a router to a switch using two VLANs?

I have Cabletron SSR and a SSR-8 switch. How can I configure an uplink from the router to the switch using two VLANs? I already configured the router to work as DHCP server and it works fine serving to DHCP VLAN and the other VLAN which support a static IPs also one of the port I used as a management VLAN.
You need to connect the router and switch using a fiber cable if you have uplink ports free and configure using commands specific to Cabletron. If you don't have the cables, etc. try using a cross cable and connect through Ethernet cables and define these ports as trunk. Hope that helps in Cabletron boxes also!!
