SMS uses the information from the file's header for the description and other information so you need to ensure the information is set in there otherwise it won't get picked up. SMS does it this way rather than using a list of filenames and matching descriptions (for example WINWORD.EXE is Microsoft Word) to get around the problem of people renaming files such as DOOM.EXE to WINWORD.EXE.
