Tip

Using MD5 in Cisco configurations

When configuring a Cisco router, instead of using enable secret 7, use enable secret 5, which is a one-way MD5 hash of your password. The secret 7 password is trivial to decrypt.

Unfortunately, Cisco does not provide the secret 5 service to all the passwords, it is available only for the enable password.
