Internet Explorer 5 may exhibit strange behavior such as not allowing secure pages to display, or not displaying html/java scripts correctly.
Go to start-->settings-->control panel-->add/remove programs.
Double-click on Internet Explorer 5 and Internet Tools, and choose the Repair option.
This will run the repair utility which will ask to restart your computer. After the restart Internet Explorer should function normally.
