You need to take care of one important thing while installing any application on Windows 2000. (I came across when I tried installing Ciscoworks 2000 on Win 2000.) The default mode is execute mode. This will create problems if you want to install applications.
Go to cmd prompt and type user change /install to change to install mode. You can use user change/query to check the mode you are in.
An even better option is to make a batch file in startup so that the machine remains in Install mode while you reboot the server after installation of each CD of Ciscoworks 2000.
