Asita Technologies of Irvine, Calif., announced the Gx series, a generation of security platforms capable of hosting firewall, anti-virus, crypto and other security applications at speeds of up to 20G bits/sec. The systems are part of a line of security blade servers designed to run third-party security applications at high speeds. The first two releases in the Gx Series are the Gx1, a low-profile appliance aimed at the midrange market, and the Gx2, a server and switch designed for running very high speed firewalls, VPN aggregation, large intrusion detection systems, and other resource intensive security applications. The Gx2 is a 4u blade server and switch capable of hosting up to 16 blades/applications and firewalling at speeds of up to 20G bits/sec. Asita Technologies
