Integration of key capabilities into one system seems to have been the theme of wireless solutions during 2007. Combining the multiple components needed to secure a wireless network into a whole, the wireless LAN system from Aruba Networks aims to do just that -- and succeeded in collecting the bronze medal in our 2008 Product Leadership Awards.

With 80% of survey respondents rating the product line good or excellent when it comes to WLAN security, Aruba utilizes its Mobility Controllers to track and maintain a quality wireless experience. Monitoring such issues as unsafe traffic, guest access and integration with the corporate VPN, and featuring an identity-based security gateway, the Mobility Controllers help to ensure that an enterprise wireless network provides quality wireless while maintaining the integrity of a secure network.

The Aruba system also garnered ratings in the 80% range for ability to integrate and interoperate with the network, and for manageability and reliability. It stood out particularly in the scalability/performance criterion, where 42% of respondents called it excellent.
