Winning the silver award in our 2008 Product Leadership awards for mobile security is VirusScan Mobile from McAfee. Our survey respondents praised VirusScan Mobile for its frequency/speed of signature updates and ease of updating devices and its reporting and alerting feature.

Survey participants said McAfee's VirusScan Mobile solution is "a very good product," that it "performs as expected," and that "McAfee Mobile Security is good and essential since so many [workers] are now mobile."

According to McAfee, VirusScan Mobile provides real-time protection against viruses, worms, dialers, Trojans and battery-sapping malware to help provide a safe mobile experience. It protects against threats that originate from email, instant messaging and Internet downloads by blocking malware from SMS, MMS, Bluetooth and other entry points.
