With an ever-increasing amount of Internet and IP traffic going into and out of main and branch offices, enterprises large and small are looking for new ways to protect their networks and VPNs from worms, spyware and other malware. Most offices rely heavily on their network firewalls to provide the necessary protection.

Juniper Networks' Secure Services Gateway (SSG) series and Integrated Security Gateway (ISG) series earned SearchNetworking.com's 2007 Product Leadership gold award. The SSG and ISG series earned high scores from survey respondents in more than half of our eight evaluation categories.

Awarding nearly steady numbers across the board at the good or excellent level, users indicated that they were highly impressed with Juniper Networks' SSG and ISG series network firewalls. More than 88% of users rated their firewalls good or excellent in application-layer/protocol/HTTP controls and for ease of installation and administration. Though scores for integration with other network-defense and management tools weren't quite as high, users still showed their appreciation of Juniper's vendor support, with more than 89% of them calling it good or excellent.

Asked to comment on their experience with the products, one respondent praised Juniper's firewall as "a good product to use at the small and midsized business level."

"Easy to use and configure," another user said. "The Juniper has been a great addition to our network security."
