Coming in a very close second to receive the silver award in the remote access category was the VPN Concentrator series from Cisco. "We have never had problems with the products," claimed one user. If reliability were ever an issue, you would have to be speaking of a different product. "We virtually have no issues with our Cisco VPN Concentrator setup," one user said. Another wrote, "From [the] end user perspective, it has been very effective."

Seventy-nine percent of users thought the authentication support was above fair, and a full 70% thought the breadth and variety of applications and devices covered were good or excellent. Cisco's marks rivaled Juniper's in all criteria except vendor service and support, where 5% of respondents rated Cisco below fair. One user reminded us that Cisco provides "a standard that everyone measures up to." However, in this case, Cisco takes the silver.
