Receiving the bronze in our WAN optimization/acceleration category were the WX and WXC platforms from Juniper.

The WX, according to Juniper, improves application performance over the WAN by eliminating redundant transmissions, accelerating TCP and application-specific protocols, prioritizing and allocating access to bandwidth, and ensuring high availability at sites with multiple WAN links. WXC platforms include on-board hard drives to store repeated data patterns, reducing WAN capacity as much as a hundredfold. In our survey, the Juniper products beat out the competition for network integration and interoperability, with more than 83% rating them good or excellent. One user, who still has Juniper's solution in testing, was quick to note that the platforms "have potential."
