Two new studies point to a growing market for wireless networks in the coming year and beyond. Allied Business Intelligence, an Oyster Bay, N.Y., research firm, found that lower cost and growing standardization were helping to drive the market. It expects the number of access points shipped to grow from 23.4 million in 2003 to 64 million in 2008. International Network Services Inc. a Santa Clara, Calif., consulting firm, said that wireless LANs will become a key component in network infrastructures this year.
