Challenge question #62: Suggestions needed to create a long range WLAN
I am looking for the best way to create an ultra long-range (up to 150 km) wireless LAN. The APs will have direct eyesight (no buildings, mountains... in between.) What would be the best way to do that and how?

Challenge question #63: Is GPRS the best method to transmit data remotely using an input device?
I would like to transmit text data remotely over a wide area from an input device (barcode scanner, for example) to an existing server (example - scan in data with a remote/mobile barcode scanner, and transmit the data to a location a couple of miles away.) What would be the best method of doing this? Current research indicates that GPRS would be the most appropriate method. Is this true, and is there any other cost effective method of doing this?
