A new book by ReefEdge CTO Sandeep Singhal explains the intricacies of modern wireless networks. The 16 chapter book titled "From WLANs to Wireless Network Systems: Applying lessons from Cell Networking to Enterprise Wireless Networking" covers such topics as general wireless technology, standards, security, public access, and wireless applications.

Juniper ships routers
Network equipment manufacturer Juniper Networks of Sunnyvale, Calif., is now shipping it's new T640 routers. The T640 offers throughput speeds of 640 Giga bits per second, and can scale to multi-terabyte speeds.
Cisco sets up networks
Cisco Systems of San Jose, Calif., is working with Internet service providers to set up what the company calls mobile offices in European airports. Cisco will use its wireless broadband technology to provide business travelers with a to stay securely connected to their home offices.
Lucent develops new router
Network equipment maker Lucent, Murray Hill, N.J. is shipping its new Access Point 1500 router. Lucent says the new router can perform all the basic routing services as well as the most advanced Internet Protocol services, including virtual private networks, firewall security and bandwidth management.
