Moby Dark debuts new wireless IP router
The Moby Dark MDZR wireless IP router has been introduced. The MDZR offers features that enable the router to find another path for messages, within seconds, in the event of a failure of one of the network elements. Moby Dark says this wireless IP router is the first and only with wireless optimized dynamic routing based on Open Shortest Path First (OSPFv2) providing quick recovery from link failure.

Dell'Oro projects WAN router market will reach $26 billion in 2005
A new report released by Dell'Oro Group projects that the WAN Router market will grow from $3 billion in 2000 to $26 billion in 2005. Routers perform key functions that enable traffic to move across the Internet, such as terminating and directing traffic, re-routing traffic during failures, and assigning and honoring the quality of service level for which the user has paid.
American TeleSource builds next generation VoIP network
American TeleSource International (ATSI) has announced that it has installed Nortel Networks Passport 15000 Packet Voice Gateway solution in Mexico City and Dallas, Texas, delivering the ability to offer "next generation" voice, video and data over a single, carrier-grade network between the U.S. and Mexico. ASI says the Mexico City installation makes it the first company to implement a true voice-over-Internet protocol (VoIP) solution utilizing Nortel Networks advanced packet switching equipment in Mexico. ATSI's packet switching capacity has been expanded by 75% and now incorporates a multi-service platform, enhancing the company's ability to provide advanced Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) services, frame relay services, IP services and voice services all on a single platform.
Roam Secure releases flagship mobile VPN-based software product
Mobile virtual private network (VPN) software solutions company Roam Secure announced its first product, OnRoad, that provides advanced Internet mobility, security and networking features and allows both wireless and wired communications in a VPN. Roam Secure developed OnRoad to run on its managed mobile VPN platform. OnRoad provides: presence information, secure instant messaging (IM) and 2-way wireless messaging, and secure chat, among other features.
