Operations
Network operations staff provides day-to-day maintenance and support of the LAN. The operations staff monitors the network for potential problems (bottlenecks, outages and spikes) and takes steps to mitigate them or passes the information on to the engineers. Operations also deals with networking problems that are submitted through a help desk, frequently dealing with user PC connectivity issues, server connectivity, and password and access updates.
