Benchmarking wireless LANs: Recommended practice

Benchmarking has been used throughout the history of computers and networks to provide a rational, quantifiable basis for the comparison of two or more similar products or services. What the Farpoint Group has done is design a simple and broadly applicable Recommended Practice as a source to those comparing multiple wireless LAN products and systems. On top of basic rate-vs.-range performance testing for wireless LANs, this includes the multiple environments where wireless LANs are implemented and even resources for real-world simulations.
