QUESTION POSED ON: 31 January 2004
Are Symbol Tech's wireless VoIP phones compatible with a 3Com NBX system?

>
EXPERT RESPONSE
According to Symbol's Web site, NetVision VoIP phones are compatible with gateways and PBXs from Nortel, Mitel, and Ericsson, but I don't see any claim of compatibility with 3Com's NBX network telephony products. Symbol and 3COM did issue a joint press release back in 2000 regarding their intent to integrate these two product lines, but I have not seen anything more recent to indicate that ever happened.
