QUESTION POSED ON: 18 December 2003
I'm working on a project to detect illegal companies that are terminating calls from Egypt. This happens through illegal deals signed with international carriers to terminate incoming international calls and route them through GSM lines that they've installed at their locations.

So the telephone number should be located in the packet that sent to the people terminating calls, this number is the end user's number - the person that receives the international call in the (The number that appears on the mobile user's phone when receiving the call is a mobile number as well - the number that has routed the call.) What could you suggest?

Try calling these folks: http://www.vive.com/dialers/autoaco_.htm They have a call interceptor that you can use based on country code. If not, maybe they can point you in the right direction. You will have to catch the call before the phone number is translated to an IP address. This may work for you. Otherwise, when the IP gateway determines it is a call for the GSM network or PSTN, it just port it to the other network. It strips the IP information at the gateway and routes like a regular call after it reassembles the voice payload.
