QUESTION POSED ON: 08 October 2003
I have a Windows NT 4.0 DHCP server servicing Windows 95 ,NT 4.0, 98, 2000 and XP. The problem is that the Windows 95 computers don't release their IP addresses even if the lease duration is over resulting conflicts when it connects back on the network. What command can I use on the Windows 95 machine to force it to release IP addresses?

EXPERT RESPONSE
The command you can use is ipconfig_release. Next type ipconfig_renew. I would then put this in a batch file and run it as a scheduled program to avoid this problem.
