Could you please give me a link where I can find the more information about VPNs. And also am very new to this field and I'm looking for basic information.

There are many Web pages that provide VPN tutorials. It really depends on what you are looking for. For a high level understanding about VPNs and their applications a simple Google search (VPN tutorial or VPN introduction) will give you good results. I would also narrow my search for VPN info by being specific on the technology: IPsec or L2TP VPNs, MPLS and IP VPNs, SSL based VPNs, etc.

If you want a detailed tutorial with specific protocol understanding then something that I refer to a lot is VPN Consortium's web page. Here is a link to the white paper section of their web page: http://www.vpnc.org/white-papers.html
