QUESTION POSED ON: 01 July 2003
I have a 64 kbps leased line on which data as well as voice travels. The data traffic is http and mail. When a voice session is activated and as soon as the latency reaches above 250 the voice breaks or jitters occur. There are Cisco routers 3640 at central site and 1750 at the other side. I tried to implement QoS such as IP precedence, rtp compression, Link Interleaving through ppp Multilink but in vain.

As a first step, I'd suggest try running your voice over this line with no other traffic (i.e. no data traffic.) You may find that you have voice traffic consumes the entire 64 kbps line thereby causing problems when there is any other traffic (even if it's a little bit.)
