I must admit that your error is not a common one, which classifies it as a difficult one as well!
I was able to find other type of errors which had as a common factor the file your system is reporting to be producing errors (newdev.dll).
For these instances Microsoft has announced that the errors produced by the file have been fixed in the latest Windows 2000 service pack - SP4.
It is recommended you download and install it on your system. This should get rid of the error.
