QUESTION POSED ON: 15 May 2003
I have a network of eight PCs connected to a broadband for Internet connectivity via a switch. Now I want to have a PC connected to the network to have a sort of log and to monitor which PC is connected to the broadband at what time and for how long. I also want to add a password feature on each PC station to control access and also to monitor at user level, (i.e which particular user is using which machine.)

There are lots of products that will allow you the level of control you are looking for. These include: Surfwatch, RuleSpace, and Websense. A search of the Web will return many more!
