QUESTION POSED ON: 20 November 2001
Can you set up a tunnel between a Win2k or WinNT machine and a Cisco 2501 router? If yes, what version IOS should I have on the router?

I haven't tried it with the 2501, but I've been able to get it to work with a 1720 (it's since been replaced with the 1751) and a 2600 series. 11.3T or higher should work. I've been able to get a tunnel set up with IKE using pre-shared keys. I've had trouble in the past trying to do it using certs.
