QUESTION POSED ON: 26 July 2007

I'm hoping to find a way to use our organization's Virtela VPN on Windows Vista. It works great with Windows XP.

Is there any chance of a version working with Vista or will it not be supported? It appears to install the same way it would using Windows XP, but appears to fail at some point, even with tweaking of user access control or only running installation from administrator login. Is the alternative to use a Cisco VPN client? Which of those work with Vista?

EXPERT RESPONSE

Undoubtedly, the Virtela VPN client will eventually support Vista as it becomes more prevalent, but ultimately that's a question for Virtela. Until then, an alternative would be to use the VPN client built directly into Vista. Consult the Vista user guide, or use this link with specific instructions for how to do it: http://www.onecomputerguy.com/networking/vista_vpn_client.htm
