Can you suggest some third party monitoring solution for Cisco Call Manager that will give statistics and alerts, and maybe some management capabilities?

It depends on the type of statistics and alerts that you are looking to gain. One of my favorite packages is SNMPc from CastleRock computing. It is very cost effective, will pull any information from the MIBs and can be customized. It also has RMON capabilities so that you can use it to model calls and check response times. It works with version 1 or 3 (I highly recommend 3 due to security). It has all the regular alerts so that you can have it notify you via pager, e-mail, etc.

HP OpenView, Tivoli and packages along those lines will provide the same functionality but are higher.

If you are looking for call statistics and phone number translations for billing, there are several out there that work with Call Manager as well.

I really like the SNMPc product, however, as it will look not only at Call Manager, but also the entire network. You can customize your views, MIBs, etc., as needed to provide you with what you want.

If you don't want to go the SNMP route or if you want to stay with Cisco, check out their CiscoWorks VoiceManager application. It is feature rich as well and can provide you some great solutions.
