QUESTION POSED ON: 27 March 2006
How do virus-infected e-mails get past a firewall?

>
EXPERT RESPONSE
Firewalls do not protect your network from viruses. You need to install a Gateway antivirus solution, which will allow you to filter the virus infected e-mails at the gateway level. Also, it does not take away the work of an Internal antivirus solution, which takes care of the end point security.
