QUESTION POSED ON: 27 March 2006
When I connect to my company's internal network through our VPN (Connectra SSL VPN), I try to log in to internal servers through terminal services (RDP). If the password contains shift characters, I can not log in to the server. I receive a wrong username or password error. However, if I try to connect to the same server through terminal services (RDP) from inside the local network, I am able to login. How can I solve this problem?

>
EXPERT RESPONSE
Connectra SSL VPN works in integration with CheckPoint's Web intelligence technology, whereby all the data is inspected deeply for any kind of attack. As part of its security feature, any presence of special characters is assumed as a possible attack. So the problem you are facing is actually a security feature. I would advise you to contact your vendor for the workaround. As per my knowledge, they do have a patch that solves your problem.
