Why when I enable the proxy on my web browser, my download speed is very slow, but when it is not enabled, it is very fast?

There are several things which would help with the answer:

  • What browser are you using?
  • What firewall and proxy are in use?
  • How many devices are on the network?
  • Have you patched all operating systems and programs?
  • What other programs are functioning at the same time?

    These will all have a bearing on the answer. I would suggest patching everything first. Please respond with the answers to these questions and I will be happy to help you out.
