EXPERT RESPONSE
You can find a good list of Wi-Fi client adapters and their characteristics -- including transmit power output -- at the Seattle Wireless website. You may also want to check out that site's comparison of receive sensitivities
-- that's how much signal a given card requires in order to operate at each link speed. If you search Google or Yahoo!, you'll also find several "wireless signal booster," "range extender," and "long range" Wi-Fi products, and plenty of directional antennas that can increase signal strength. However, don't expect to achieve the maximum distance published in product specs. Your own results will depend on the layout and composition of your office -- for example, wall attenuation varies based on the type of wall (drywall, brick, cinder block, etc.)
