QUESTION POSED ON: 10 February 2003
I have use a 3com switch 3300 and I want to set the ports to connect two switches, but not by using the matrix modules. I have read the menu for this product - there is a function for port trunk. I tried this and I can't seem to work it out.

Many switches have a port that can be toggled between MDI and MDI-X in order to connect like devices. It appears the 3Com does not. All the ports on the 3Com 3300 are configures as MDI-X. What this means is that you will need a cross-over cable to get the proper connection to another switch.
