I'm running a webcam over a building under construction next door. The distance from the camera to an Ethernet drop is about 300 yards. What wireless strategy would you recommend?

You might be interested in reading about wireless cameras with built-in 802.11 radios. For examples, see the D-Link DCS-1000W, Richoh RDC-i700, DataHunter DH-V500, Hawking NC220W/NC200, and TRENDnet TV-IP200W. Look carefully at range - for example, D-Link specs claim an outdoor range up to 984 feet. If the camera itself is to be located outdoors, you will also need an outdoor camera housing.
