What type of cable should I use to connect a Cisco 2600 router with an IBM control unit 5494?

I'd like to know what type of cable I could use to connect serial in a router Cisco 2600 with IBM control unit 5494. I used v.24 male cable from 5494 and connect it with v.24 cable female with Cisco cable but the sdlc address in interface is disconnected. Is that right or not?

I have never personally connected a Cisco router with a IBM 5494 control unit, but were able to find some very good articles which should be able to help you troubleshoot your problematic connection.

This link provides some extremely good and detailed information on SDLC connections and is highly recommended:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk331/tk336/technologies_tech_note09186a0080094cef.shtml

This second link contains generic information on connecting to an IBM 5494 control unit:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk331/tk336/technologies_configuration_example09186a00800b47ac.shtml

If the above links prove insufficient to cover your needs, I'd suggest you take some time searching on Cisco's website as your bound to find the solution to your problem buried somewhere within their site!
