While there are many methods of preparation for the A+ exam, two usually come up for regular mention when people ponder their options. The best (but most expensive) method is to take a commercial class of the "boot camp" variety that includes extensive topical coverage, hands-on labs, exam prep and drill sessions, and then makes sure you get to the exam to take it while the info remains fresh in your mind. Expect to pay $2,500 and up for such offerings.

The second and cheaper route is self-study: buy a good study guide, an Exam Cram, one or more practice tests, and pay for the exam, all for between $350 and 500. You can find local or online study groups to help you over the humps, but will end up doing pretty much everything for yourself to get ready.
