What determines the speed of a LAN that consists of 10 Mbps and 100 Mbps devices?
I assume that you are talking about Ethernet and FastEthernet devices. Auto-negotiation and auto-sensing features built into Ethernet hubs, switches and NICs can determine if a given link will operated at half or full duplex and 10 or 100 Mbps.
