When I connect to my office network via the Internet through a VPN I find that I cannot send e-mails with attachments larger than 300-400 kb. None of the settings on my computer are restricting e-mail size. I never have problems other than when I am connected via the VPN. Any advice?

I am running windows 98SE on my laptop and windows 2000 server on the network.

are a number of cases where this is a function of desktop configuration and e-mail configuration but your statement that this does not happen when not on the VPN (i.e. directly connected to your LAN) implies that this isn?t the problem. If that is true, then I suspect you?re either 1) using a VPN product that isn?t meant for heavy duty usage or configured quite right or 2) you?re remote connection is too slow or of poor quality.
