IPv6 will impact ALL networks. In Asia it is pretty alive already, many ISPs offering commercial IPv6 services and the governments of many countries like Japan, China, India, Kore, Taiwan to just name a few supporting the introduction of IPv6. There is a global IPv6 backbone by NTT/Verio. There are many mechanisms to run IPv4 and IPv6 in parallel and encapsulate IPv6 in IPv4 to be transported over an IPv4 backbone or through an IPv4 provider, but also mechanisms, to encapsulate IPv4 in IPv6 to run IPv4 over IPv6 backbones/Internet routes.
