How to set up a VLAN on multiple switches
How can I configure VLANs on CISCO catalyst 500 series switches? I can create and delete VLANs, but only in one switch and I can't use it as a different VLAN.

See what kind of membership you have given to the switch. All 500 switches are in VTP transparent mode by default. So you need to create VLAN in each switch separately. See if this has been changed accidentally. Also you can create a maximum of 32 VLANs including VLAN 1 which is the default VLAN.

For creating VLANs you need to go to Configure-> VLAN on the device manager menu.
