How does CCNA compare to other certs? I know Cisco is king, so to speak, but should I also look to get other certifications, or is CCNA what I need to get ahead?

Glad you paid your homage to King Cisco. The answer to your question ultimately depends where your career path leads you. The CCNA is great if you are looking to be a network or systems administrator or some similar career in telecom. In comparison to other certifications, it is very popular, which means there are a plethora of others out there with the certification. To stand out in the crowd, you really should pursue some of the professional or specialized Cisco certifications to prove you are loyal to the King. However, the more you can add to your certification alphabet (Cisco and non-Cisco), the better off you are for advancing your current career or gaining a new position.
