Q

Access router through a console connection

I have tried using the Con port in front of Cisco 3640 but have had no luck. If I cannot access the router through the console port I will not be able to configure telnet access. I am using the proper steps in order to access the router through a console connection. I am using a rollover cable, and set the connection speed on my HyperTerminal session to 9600 baud.
You need to check you comm. port and see if the rollover cable is right or not. Also if you are using a converter in between than check that also. There is no much setting to be done. Make sure all other setting on HyperTerm are ok.
